I've been working with a group on a class project... our particular group's assignment is to get android running on the n800. We found a pretty good wiki, but it's lacking some info that newbies (like us!) didn't know. So I made a extra document with some more explanations.
How to get Android on the nokia n800, the newbie addition

For my UbiComp class, I am presenting on Autonomous Robots! :)
It's a very general overview based on 3 papers.
Paper 1:
Coaxial Range Measurement—Current Trends for Mobile Robotic Applications
Martin D. Adams, Member, IEEE
Paper 2:
APlayer/StageSystemforContext-AwareIntelligent Environments

Theory into Practice
I haven't had a chance to update the blog with pictures and description of my research project yet..
We've been taught the importance of defining requirements, design, etc in SW engineering. I've also been learning at user interface design in one of my classes. I never taught I would be able to put theory into practice.
For the consulting project I am working on, what seems to be a few simple add-on's is now growing in complexity as I write the requirements and design the UI screens. It's especially challenging because I am designing the UI for a touchscreen device for ... *unexperienced* users. I was initially avoiding writing the requirements document because I thought it was unnecessary. Though as I am being forced to think the program side and UI side, I realized there are *a lot* of details that were not discussed at the last meeting. These issues could potentially impact legal issues with the device.
So to say the least, I am excited that I can put theory into practice. Though I am also a bit apprehensive because this is not a test... what I do will actually have a large impact on the company and the users. I really hope that all this thinking will help me do my best on this project!!

Starting a blog
So I have finally decided to start a blog. I plan to write about my research at UCI and maybe post some of the basic guides I've written on my favorite activities (such as paintball).
For now, check out my LinkedIn page! :)
